Download the ZIP package and load it locally through Chrome Developer mode.
Keep the extracted extension folder on your computer after installation. Chrome loads the extension from that folder.

Android setup
Install the APK
- 1Download the APK
Tap the Android download button above and open the downloaded file.
- 2Allow this source if asked
If Android blocks the installer, open the permission screen for the browser or file manager you used.
- 3Turn on the install permission
Enable Allow from this source, then return to the APK.
- 4Finish installation
Tap Install and open Subtitle Companion when Android finishes.

Chrome setup
Load the extension
- 1Download and extract the ZIP
Unzip it somewhere permanent, such as Documents or a dedicated Subtitle Companion folder.
- 2Open the Extensions page
Enter
chrome://extensionsin the Chrome address bar. - 3Enable Developer mode
Turn on Developer mode in the top-right corner of the Extensions page.
- 4Select Load unpacked
Choose the extracted Subtitle Companion extension folder. The folder you select should contain
manifest.json.

Before you install
A few things to keep in mind
Chrome folder
Do not delete or move the extracted extension folder after loading it.
Updates
When a new private beta version is published, download the new package and replace the previous version.
Android permission
You only need the unknown-app permission for the app you use to open the APK, and you can switch it off afterwards.
